Mesh Choices

WHICH KIND OF MESH SHOULD I USE?

Soft Mesh
  • Pro: No time necessary for breaking in. Very good feel and hold. Easily adjustable even after breaking in.
  • Con: Can "bag out." Slower release and shot speed. Doesn't stand up well to weather.
  • Typical Age: beginners, youth players
  • We do not sell but comes on the Youth STX AV8 Stick

Players Pocket (a.k.a. Hard Mesh)
  • Pro: Extremely consistent. Quicker release and shot than soft mesh. Good feel and hold. Stands up to weather better than soft mesh.
  • Con: Need to break in. If not properly cared for after getting wet or dirty, it will shrink up and could become unusable.
  • Typical Age: Middle school (intermediate) and above.
  • Brands Available: Gait Preformed Mesh Kit, Colored LaxPros Hard Mesh Kits, STX Dura Mesh(Goalie Only)

Six Diamond Mesh
  • Pro: Feel and hold comparable to traditional. Quick release. Stands up to weather very well.
  • Con: Takes time to break in. Doesn't throw as consistently as soft or hard mesh.
  • Typical Age: Middle school (intermediate) and above
  • Brands Available: Colored LaxPros Hard Mesh
